We know singer Gloria Estefan as the dynamic force behind the Miami Sound Machine in the 80s and 90s, but did you know that she’s also scheduled to be a guest star on the Netflix comedy ‘One Day at a Time?’ The streaming reboot of the show of the popular 70s sitcom One Day at a Time will be in its 3rd season in 2019, the timeframe Gloria will star.
If you’ve caught the Netflix reboot you already know that Gloria sings the theme song, but producers and her management tame have been talking for some time about her appearing on the show. This streaming version is about three generations of a Cuban-American family, a doting mother, her two sons, and her mom. Rita Moreno plays the mom Lydia, and the show is a popular series on the streaming platform. This is not Gloria’s fist acting experience, as she appeared as a mother on the Fox network’s Glee series, and on film in ‘Music of the Heart’ and For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story.
