Hitting the box office this weekend is “The Last Duel” and “Halloween Kills.”
On Friday, October 15th, Ridley Scott’s “The Last Duel” will be released, starring Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer, and Ben Affleck.
Set in the midst of the Hundred Years War, this R-rated, cinematic drama explores the ubiquitous power of men, the frailty of justice and the strength and courage of one woman willing to stand alone in the service of truth. Based on actual events, the film unravels long-held assumptions about France’s last sanctioned duel between Jean de Carrouges and Jacques Le Gris, two friends turned bitter rivals.

Horror fans can also anticipate an exciting release on Friday, as David Gordon Green’s sequel to “Halloween” is set to hit theaters right in time for the spooky season.
“Halloween Kills” is an R-rated follow-up slasher, which focuses on an injured Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) inspiring a vigilante mob to hunt down unstoppable killer Michael Myers and end his reign of terror once and for all. The horror flick also stars Judy Greer, Anthony Michael Hall, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, and Thomas Mann among others.
