Friday Movie Release: “Morbius,” “The Contractor,” “You Won’t Be Alone”

This Friday is for action and horror fans, as there are three thrilling movies coming to theaters nationwide.

Morbius follows Dr. Morbius, dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering the same fate. He attempts a desperate gamble which at first appears to be a radical success but soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease. Directed by Daniel Espinosa, this Sony Pictures take on a classic Marvel villain stars Jared Leto, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Tyrese Gibson, Matt Smith, and Al Madrigal. Morbius is rated PG-13.

After being involuntarily discharged from the U.S. Special Forces, James Harper (Chris Pine) decides to support his family by joining a private contracting organization alongside his best friend (Ben Foster) and under the command of a fellow veteran (Kiefer Sutherland). Starring Chris Pine, Ben Foster, Gillian Jacobs, Eddie Marsan, Nina Hoss, Amira Casar, Fares Fares, and J.D. Pardo, The Contractor finds Harper overseas on a covert mission where he must evade those trying to kill him while making his way back home. Directed by Tarik Saleh and produced by Paramount Pictures, The Contractor is rated R.

Set in an isolated mountain village in 19th century Macedonia, You Won’t Be Alone follows a young girl who is kidnapped and then transformed into a witch by an ancient spirit. Curious about life as a human, the young witch accidentally kills a peasant in the nearby village and then takes her victim’s shape to live life in her skin. Her curiosity ignited, she continues to wield this horrific power in order to understand what it means to be human. You Won’t Be Alone is directed by Goran Stolevski and stars Noomi Rapace, Anamaria Marinca, Alice Englert, Carloto Cotta, Félix Maritaud, and Sara Klimoska. It is rated R.
