Founder of Uptown Records – Dead at 59

Music mogul and founder of influential R&B and hip-hop label Uptown Records, Andre Harrell, has died.
On Saturday morning, May 9th, DJ D-Nice took to Instagram to announce the news of the music mogul’s passing. Harrell’s cause of death is congestive heart failure.

REVOLT ceo Roma Khana released a statement this morning regarding Harrell, who served as the brand’s vice-chairman: “We can confirm the passing of Andre Harrell. Everyone in the REVOLT family is devastated by the loss of our friend, mentor and Vice-Chairman. Andre’s impact on the culture and on us has been immeasurable and profound. May he Rest In Peace.”

Harrell is survived by his son, Gianni Credle-Harrell; a brother, Greg; and his father.
