The first David Bowie-centered film, which is “neither documentary nor biography, but an immersive cinematic experience,” to be officially sanctioned by his estate will reportedly premiere at the Cannes Film Festival that is taking place next month.

The film, Moonage Daydream, was revealed last year. It took writer and director Brett Morgen, who had “unfiltered access to Bowie’s personal archives and … unearthed hundreds of hours of never-before-seen 35mm and 16mm footage,” five years to complete the project.

Sources have said that the film would be available to stream on HBO in early 2023.
