Last weekend, Fireboy DML shared a new version of his song “Peru,” which now features Ed Sheeran.

Just a day after the track’s release, it acquired 3.2 million views on YouTube.

“It has been a dream knowing Ed Sheeran is a fan of my sound and having him jump on a song that was inspired by me traveling the world,” the rising Nigerian artist remarked in a press release. “Not only is this an exciting moment for me, but also for Afrobeats. I hope this is the first of many collaborations with Ed and other artists around the globe, and I can’t wait for everyone to enjoy this song during the holidays.”

Fireboy DML originally released the single back in July following the drop of his breakout sophomore album Apollo last year.

The singer-songwriter will take on his first U.S. headlining tour early next year, kicking off on February 3rd in Providence, Rhode Island, and wrapping up on February 28th in Seattle, Washington.
