Finding Dory Sets Box Office Record

Everything Ellen Degeneres touches turns to gold and this is the case with her latest movie role, Dory, a fish! While it was just her voice, she did a great job in this role. “Finding Dory” is the Pixar sequel to “Finding Nemo” and it was very much looked forward to by millions out there. This was evident this weekend when he made $136.2 million in North American box offices. This number has made the movie the best debut from an animated movie of all time!

Previously, the record was held by “Shrek the Third,” which was released in 2007 and made $121.6 million. This number from “Finding Dory” is also the best debut for Pixar as well, which was previously held by “Toy Story 3” and its $110.3 million.

The other top movies this past weekend included “Central Intelligence,” which brought in $34.5 million, and “The Conjuring 2,” which brought in $15.6 million.
