Fantastic Debut for Fantastic Beasts

Everyone expected Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to have a great first week and that’s just what they did. By the end of the weekend the movie brought in about $75 million! This amount of box office revenue put the movie at the top of the list for all movies playing this past weekend.

The next best movies this past weekend were Doctor Strange and Trolls. Doctor Strange debuted at number one, but moved to the top three after Fantastic Beasts had their spectacular debut. Trolls joins those two movies inside the top three as well .These two movies each brought in about $17 million this past weekend.

Two other movies that debuted just a few days ago included The Edge of Seventeen and Bleed for This. They brought it about $5 million and $2 million in their debuts.
