Empire of the Sun made its debut into the top 10 for its song “Walking on a Dream” this past week and it got us thinking. Who are these guys? Well, the band from Sydney, Australia is just three guys (Luke Steele, Ian Ball, and Olly Peacock) with an inspiration from the book with the same name authored by J.G. Ballard.

This hit, “Walking on a Dream,” came off their debut album all the way back in August of 2008 in Australia. At this time, the band was just Steele and Nick Littlemore and was a bit hit. So, how did the song come to light here in America? Well, a recent Honda Civic commercial has breathed new life into the single.

It’s at this time that we see the single reach the top 10 Mediabase Alternative chart and we expect it to keep on moving up.
