Elton John Gives Health Update After Postponing 2021 Tour 

Back in September, Elton John announced to fans that he was regretfully postponing the remainder of his 2021 tour dates in the U.K. and Europe. The reason for the seemingly last-minute cancellation was due to the musician needing an operation on his hip.

John gave fans a more detailed update on his condition earlier this week, telling fans that he “can’t move sideways.”

“I can’t get in and out of a car,” the legendary singer explained. “And the decision had to be made because I wouldn’t want to go on stage and give less than 100 percent. And I don’t know – with a year and a half of touring to go – how long my hip would last. It probably wouldn’t. So better to get it done now.”

Promising to make it up to disappointed fans, John reassures that prioritizing his surgery will be worth the wait. 

The Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour is scheduled to resume in January of next year in North America.
