Ella Mai’s ‘Boo’d Up’ Ties For Most Weeks at No. 1 by a Woman On R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart

Ella Mai’s “Boo’d Up” ties for the longest-running No. 1 among songs by women on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart since the list’s inception in 1992.

The single logs its 15th week in charge on the chart dated Sept. 29, matching the run of Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You” from January – April 2006. “Boo’d” holds on to the chart’s top rank despite an 11 percent drop in audience in the week ending Sept. 23, according to Nielsen Music.

Among all songs, “Boo’d” now claims a share for the second-most No. 1 weeks, tying both Blige’s “You” and Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” which also ruled for 15 weeks in 2015-16. Only Miguel’s “Adorn,” at 23 weeks in 2012-13, has posted a longer reign.
