2017 is the year of Ed Sheeran there’s no doubt about that. Every day it seems like something new pops up involving him. This time it has come out that Sheeran has been awarded the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The award will be given to him in New York on June 15. There’s plenty of reason for him to win this one with two top 10 hits, including the number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He also has written hits for Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Major Lazer, Tori Kelley and One Direction among others.
Others to have won this award in the past include Rob Thomas, Jason Mraz, Johan Mayer, Alicia Keys, John Legend and Taylor Swift among others.
