Ed Sheeran is among the many names listed as a nominee for the Hyundai Mercury Prize. This award is given out to the artist or band that puts out the best British album from the previous year. With such an amazing album released recently, how is Sheeran not the favorite?
“Divide” is one of 12 nominations for this one including albums from Alt-J, Blossoms, Stampha, Kate Tempest, The xx, Glass Animals and Stormzy among others.
Last year’s winner was Skepta, whose album “Konnichiwa” was his first. The winner for this year’s Mercury Prize will be announced on September 14 with multiple acts scheduled to perform.
