Ed Hochuli, NFL Ref, To Retire

Ed Hoculi is one of the biggest and most well-known referees in the NFL and that’s evident by the fact that we’re talking about him today. He’s been around in the NFL since 1990 and even has a son as an NFL ref. In fact, the position made by him retiring is being given to his son, Shawn Hochuli. Shawn is going to be a back judge in 2018.

Hochuli was known around the league as the referee that always explained every single call. He was not afraid to explain the thinking behind particular calls and we loved him for it. Hochuli is not the only long-time referee to retire this offseason. Jeff Triplette announced his retirement back in January.
