Maurice White, the founder of Earth, Wind and Fire, has been gone a few years now (date of death, February 5th, 2016).
EWF was the first African-American act to sell out Madison Square Garden. In 2000, Earth, Wind & Fire was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They have performed for both Bill Clinton and President Obama. EWF has been nominated for a Grammy 20 times, winning six of them. Two of its members, Maurice and Philip, have won a Grammy outside the band. Those remaining are hitting the road. Let’s take a look…
