Debbie Reynolds More Than Just an Actress

We’re all still reeling from the incredibly odd passing of both Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds in late December. Debbie’s singing career is often overlooked by critics and fans, so let’s share a few highlights.

Debbie Reynolds was born on April 1, 1932, in El Paso, Texas, and tragically died one day after the passing of her daughter Carrie Fisher. Her singing career was enviable, given the songs released and sold.

Although Debbie was an accomplished actress, her singing skills were rich for that time. Debbie may very well be remembered best for singing the theme song from her 1957 movie, “Tammy And The Bachelor.” “Tammy” hit the charts with fury, becoming a number one hit that year. The record label had her record and releases “A Very Special Love” followed by “Am I That Easy To Forget,” each a hit.

Debbie also loved the live shows of Las Vegas. For nearly 10 years, Debbie would headline at the Riviera Hotel for up to three months a year, making her a true Las Vegas star.
