Hold on to your hats music fans, 2018 is off to a rocky start. There is news that the 90s group Cranberries lead singer Dolores O’Riordan has died Monday, January 15th, suddenly at the age of 46. There is no official cause of death yet.
The Cranberries originated from Limerick Ireland in 1991, hitting the charts with pop songs like “Zombie” and “Linger,” becoming a staple of 90s bands. You can distinctly hear Dolores’s voice as the lead on the bands biggest hit “Linger.”
In a short period of years the Cranberries were nominated for Grammy, Juno, Brit and MTV awards – cashing in on one Juno and an MTV Europe award. Dolores had been in a spot of poor health recently (back issues) and remained in London for a recording session at the time of her death. Her body was found at the Park Lane Hotel in London.
