Music is a gift from the Gods and is the audio sacrament that actually provides the soundtrack of our lives. What was the most popular song on the radio the year you granulated from high school? We’re sure you remember. Let’s get you to remember more songs that made us feel good…

“Green Tambourine” from the Oxford, OH band, the Lemmon Piper’s, is a catchy song that brought the little known tambourine to the forefront of the recording in 1968. The song is credited with being the first ‘Bubble Gum’ number one, the only charted song from the group.

“Baker Street’ is a wonderfully crafted song with rich guitar, saxophone, and deep tones from the lead vocalist Gerry Rafferty. Gerry had a long and prosperous career, pointing out that “Baker Street” was his first big hit as a solo artist. Gerry was the lead singer of the band ‘Stealers Wheel’ with success with the hit single “Stuck in the Middle with You.” Gerry died at the age of 63 in January of 2011 of liver disease and organ failure, the result of his highly publicized battle with the bottle. It was common for Gerry to disappear on lengthy drinking binges during his career.
