The pop charts are filled with familiar faces; Portugal. The Man, Imagine Dragons, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, and U2, but there’s a new group Clean Bandit making waves with a great song called “I Miss You” featuring Julia Michaels. Who is Clean Bandit?
Clean Bandit is more of an electronic sounding band, starting their musical career in Cambridge England in 2008, consisting of Grace Chatto, and brothers Luke and Jack and Patterson. Although the group had a few regional hits in the UK in 2014, their big splash in the states came in in 2015 when their song “Rather Be” won the Grammy for Best Dance Recording.
The band’s name Clean Bandit is derived from a translation of a Russian phrase that has a dirty denotation, but they have behaved themselves along the way. In a brief period of time, they’ve sold nearly 15 million records worldwide.
