While on the road for her Liberation tour, Christina Aguilera asked to sing with a band in a New Orleans bar on Thursday, November 8th, but was turned down.

The night before her show at The Saenger Theater, Xtina stopped by Cafe Negril, a popular bar on Frenchmen Street. Claude Bryant and the All Stars, a local reggae band that plays every Thursday, was performing at the bar.

After spending most of the night dancing, Aguilera eventually went up to the band’s frontman Claude Bryant and asked if she could join them for a song. Aguilera was turned down, though. In a video captured by a fan, Xtina is seen talking to Bryant at the bar as he denies her the microphone. “You don’t want that? Oh, it’s OK. I don’t have to sing,” she can be heard saying, but appears to take it all in stride.
