Sublime is no longer together, but this week we get to celebrate one of the greatest rock albums of the 90s. We’re talking about their final album, “Sublime,” which was a major hit for all those who had a chance to listen. The band was together from 1986-1996 and it was that self-titled album that was the last time we heard from them as a band. Just over the weekend, the album turned 20 years old!

Who could ever forget the album that gave us “What I Got,” “Wrong Way” and “Santeria” among other hits? By the time 2000 rolled around, the album had sold five million copies! Spin magazine rated it the eighth best album of 1996 and Rolling Stone named it the 25th best album of the 1990s. Impressive feats if you ask us.

It’s truly unfortunate that Bradley Nowell, the vocalist and guitarist of the band, was heavy into drugs because an overdose occurred two months before the album came out. We lost an amazing artist and a great band all at the same time.
