Britney Spears Turns 40: “I’m So Blessed”

Last month, Britney Spears’ 13-year conservatorship finally came to an end. This month, the pop star turned 40, celebrating not only another year of life but the first of freedom in far too long. 

Spears and fiancé Sam Asghari took to Cabo, Mexico for a festive birthday trip.

“I’m so blessed and grateful !!!! Tears of joy today,” Spears wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for all the b-day wishes 🥳🎂🎈🎉 !!!! Psss I didn’t even drink the champagne 🥂 no lie !!!!”

The couple, who were recently first engaged back in September, could be seen popping champagne, enjoying a B-shaped cake, and a sky full of fireworks. 

According to a source, “Britney was very excited. She loves beach vacations and hasn’t been to Mexico in many years… She is doing well. She is taking care of herself both physically and mentally.”
