Did you know that the human body is primarily made up of H20 or water? Rivers, lakes, ponds, oceans, and water in general can be found in your favorite music as well.

Eddie Money’s “If I Could Walk on Water” is classic song that featured a beautiful girl and all the right notes, adding to his already slew of hit songs. Eddie was groomed to grow up to be a New York policeman (like his brothers and uncles) until music called. Eddie’s real last name is Mahoney by the way.

“Take Me to the River,” the Al Green tune performed by the Talking Heads, is an iconic song that make you want to convert to rock and roll for sure.

“Black Water” was a melodic folk rock song from the Doobie Brothers in the early 70s, the vocals of Tom Johnston can be heard on the single. The Doobies would take a more commercial turn with the addition of Michael McDonald a few years after this release.

“River Deep” by Tina Turner is a remake of a classic blues tune from the 50s and was Tina’s first charted single. The Muscle Shoals gang can be heard on the song.

The Standells’ “Dirty Water” was the band sonly charted single, bringing fame and fortune to this Boston band of brothers. The band would dis-band shortly after the songs entry onto the charts.

“Up On Cripple Creek” was a hit single for the ‘Band’ in November of 1969; Robbie Robertson wrote the song while Levon Helm handled the vocals.
