We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: the HGTV reboot of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is going to be ah-maz-ing. Tarek El Moussa, Jasmine Roth, Tamara Day AND Ty Pennington?! The award-winning Jesse Tyler Ferguson is hosting; the design team is fantastic and the families being featured are incredibly deserving.  So in case you thought it couldn’t get any better, hold onto your hard hats, because…

Anthony Anderson is now joining the lineup of special guests lending a hand. The actor and executive producer of ABC’s critically acclaimed hit comedy series black-ish and executive producer of grown-ish and mixed-ish, will come aboard to work alongside the series host, Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Together with volunteers, special guests and experts, they will help bring to life dream home transformations for some truly deserving families.

You may have most recently seen Anderson on stage, kicking off the 2019 Emmy Awards. But get ready for early 2020, when you’ll catch him rolling up his sleeves on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. “On Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, I will be part of making a real impact on a family’s future,” said Anderson. “The joy of working alongside people in the community to help a family get a fresh start in their new home is extraordinary.”

Anderson is a familiar face on HGTV’s sister net Food Network, where he was host of Carnival Cravings and has appeared as a guest judge on Chopped and Iron Chef America. He also hosts the popular ABC game show To Tell the Truth, now in its fourth season. Anderson has starred in more than 20 films and is multi-award nominated for Emmys, Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards, among others. He has also won 13 Image Awards over the course of his career.

The HGTV spin on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is scheduled to air in early 2020. We will continue to announce more guest stars throughout production of the series, which will showcase great stories, inspired volunteers and stunning home renovations for families who give back to their communities.
