On Tuesday, we discussed the big weekend that The Weeknd had at the 2016 Juno Awards, but don’t think we forgot about the other big stars at the event. One of the biggest and best upcoming stars is Alessia Cara. She had herself a Juno Award to remember, winning her very first and also opening the event up with a performance. The two-day event was opened by Alessia on Sunday night at the Saddledome in Calgary.

While she was nominated for four awards (Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Fan Choice Award, Single of the Year, and R&B/Soul Recording of the Year), she only took home won. She won the Breakthrough Artist of the Year beating out Coleman Hell, Scott Helman, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Francesco Yates.

The 2016 Junos were definitely one to remember for Alessia Cara and her fans.
