Adrienne Banfield-Norris Marks 31 Years of Sobriety After Decades-Long Heroin Addiction

In a video posted to Instagram yesterday, Adrienne Banfield-Norris opened up about her 31-year sober journey.

“So I’m outside and I just wanted to take a few minutes to be peaceful and still,” began Banfield-Norris. “Today is my anniversary, my clean date. 31 years.”

Banfield-Norris detailed her experience with drug addiction with her daughter Jada Pinkett Smith on an emotional episode of Red Table Talk in 2018. She admitted that she “abused drugs for over 20 years.”

“I spent so many years in that insanity of active addiction, running in and out, and just that revolving door — you know, trying to get my life back together. That surrender was a struggle,” the Red Table Talk host explained. “But it was the surrender that was the beginning of the change in my life.”
