Adele Has Gotten Spotify to Remove Album Shuffle Feature

Shortly following the release of her newest album 30, Adele took to Twitter to ask that Spotify not shuffle albums as its default setting. 

“We don’t create albums with so much care and thought into our track listing for no reason,” the beloved singer shared on Twitter. “Our art tells a story and our stories should be listened to as we intended.”

A spokesperson for Spotify said that the new “premium feature” of making play the default button on all albums was “long requested by both users and artists.” 

“As always, we will continue to iterate our products and features to create the best experiences for both artists and their fans,” Spotify’s statement concluded.
