A Truly Unique Story Behind Locash

Not all great county singers and performers are from Nashville or Lubbock. In fact, one of the rising stars of the country music scene are two dudes from Baltimore, Maryland and Kokomo, Indiana. Yup, Locash is pure country, but you wouldn’t know it from their birth certificates.

Chris Lucas and Preston Brust are Locash and boy what a year they’re having.

Although they originally began with the name of Locash Cowboys, they recently confessed that dropping the word Cowboys from their name wasn’t based on a desire to ease any stereotype, or legal issue.

The name change came about after they noticed the ZZ Top Logo and began re-working their current logo on a cocktail napkin. When they were done they realized that the word Cowboys was missing, so they simply decided that it was either fate or really cool and are now known as just Locash.

The boys are not only good in concert, but good with pen in hand as each co-wrote Keith Urban’s number one single “You Gonna Fly” and Tim McGraw’s top 10 hit “Truck Yeah.”
