Dunkin’ has a menu that’s filled with a seemingly endless list of drink items, but it’s now stepping into uncharted territory (for them, anyway). The coffee and donut spot is testing out bubble tea in select locations.

Bubble tea has a tea base that’s blended with milk, fruit, and fruit juices, and the bottom is decorated with chewy tapioca pearls. While Taiwan is known as the boba capital of the world, bubble tea has made its way around the world — and now to one of the most well-known chains in the United States and beyond.

The drinks that are being tested this summer are Popping Bubble Iced Tea and Dunkin’ Refreshers, Sparkling Dunkin’ Refreshers, Summer Shandies, Bubble Iced Coffee and Tea, and Layered Iced Tea, according to MassLive.

The Popping Bubble Iced Tea is made of Dunkin’s classic iced green tea that is paired with the new strawberry popping bubbles. Those popping bubbles “burst in your mouth for an explosion of strawberry sweetness with each sip,” Dunkin’ said in a statement. “Guests can also enjoy Popping Bubble Dunkin’ Refreshers, with strawberry popping bubbles added to Dunkin’ Refreshers’ combination of iced green tea, flavored fruit concentrate, and B vitamins for a boost of brightness and energy. Both are served with a special, extra-wide Bubble paper straw.”

These beverages will available at select locations in Massachusetts for a limited time. MassLive has laid out exactly which locations are carrying which drinks, so you can find the one that’s calling your name. They’ll be on the trial menu from July 1 to Aug. 18. Don’t live in the Northeast?  Well, with any luck, they’ll be a hit and roll out on a more national level.

On it, Gilmour sings, "Yes, I have ghosts, not all of them dead/ Making dust of my dreams, spinning round and around, around in my head." Floyd called time with the 2014 release of The Endless River, though the prog-rock […]
