On Wednesday, October 9th, Miranda Lambert threw one back with the release of “Tequila Does”.

The project combines two time signatures that channel elements of a two-step and a waltz, Lambert’s yearning vocals are at the forefront alongside wavering steel guitar, a driving beat and delicate plucks of an acoustic guitar.

“Tequila Does” was written with longtime collaborators and fellow Texans Jack Ingram and Jon Randall. It is the latest preview off her upcoming Jay Joyce-produced album Wildcard, out Nov. 1.

“‘Tequila Does’ is country. And country music makes me happy,” Lambert said of the track. “No matter how rock or edgy or scorned you can get, when you come back to a country song with a steel guitar, it makes my soul feel like it’s on fire.”
