1962 – At Abbey Road, the Beatles recorded the songs “Besame Mucho” and three of their own songs, “P.S. I Love You,” “Ask Me Why” and “Love Me Do.” It was their first recording session at the studio.

1965 – The Rolling Stones single “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” was released in the U.S.

1967 – Moby Grape released its self-titled debut album and 5 singles from the album simultaneously on Columbia Records.

1971 – “The Ed Sullivan Show” aired for the last time. It was canceled after 23 years on the air. Gladys Knight and the Pips were the musical guests on show.

1971 – John Lennon and Yoko Ono appeared on stage for the first time since 1969 when they join Frank Zappa for a show at the Fillmore East.

1977 – Stevie Wonder delivered an unannounced lecture to a UCLA class studying the record industry. He also performed.

1982 – The “Peace Sunday: We Have a Dream” rally took place at the Rose Bowl.
