Next College Student Athlete (NCSA), the world’s largest and most successful college athletic recruiting network, is pleased to announce that NCSA President Lisa Strasman has been named a 2019 Top Woman in Sports by Cynopsis Media.

Cynopsis Top Women in Sports was established in 2019 to “celebrate female trailblazers in the sports industry.” Strasman is recognized in two categories, Social Good and Sports-Centric Brands. She will join fellow winners to receive her award at the Cynopsis Top Women in Sports Awards Gala in New York City this spring.

“Lisa is a true innovator and has helped pave the way for women in her sport and in her industry; first as captain of the Yale women’s ice hockey team and today in her role at NCSA,” said Luke Zaientz, CEO of NCSA parent company Reigning Champs. “She cares deeply about NCSA’s mission and is committed to making college accessible to all student-athletes.”

During her 14 years at NCSA, Strasman spearheaded the development of countless new products and services – from the first searchable athlete database for college coaches to a recruiting platform for the world’s fastest growing sport, esports. These innovations have not only helped define NCSA’s success, they have also had a tremendous impact on the recruiting industry as a whole, helping thousands more student-athletes find their right college fit.

In addition to strengthening NCSA’s reach, influence, and credibility within the recruiting industry, Strasman has played a pivotal role in the company’s tradition of giving back.

Throughout Strasman’s tenure, NCSA has donated millions of dollars in services to over 30,000 student-athletes and their families through NCSA’s All In Award and Seat At The Table programs. In 2018, NCSA donated $15M in services to student-athletes and their families.

“It is an honor to be recognized by Cynopsis Media as a Top Woman in Sports. I am blessed with an amazing team at NCSA who works tirelessly to help student-athletes reach their dreams. Sports has played an integral role in my life and I am grateful to have a platform to pay it forward,” said Strasman.

NCSA was founded in 2000 to help educate student-athletes and their families on the college athletic recruiting process and today, leverages proprietary technology and data with professional expertise and personal relationships to equip student athletes with the resources they need to connect with more than 35,000 college coaches across 34 different sports in NCSA’s network.
