Puff Sleeves

If you’ve visited Who What Wear UK in 2018, you know that the 80’s are back in a big way. Not only does that mean wearing Quality Street purple, white shoes and double-breasted jackets with XXL shoulders, but it’s also bringing the return of puff sleeves.

In case you’re harkening back to the hideousness of Molly Ringwald’s “Pretty In Pink” dance design, don’t worry. The street style crowd isn’t wearing billowing bubblegum-pink tinfoil just yet, but rather shirts and dresses with dramatic oversized shoulders and sleeves. When said silhouettes are voluminous at the top and cuffed at the wrist, it’s technically called a leg-of-mutton sleeve.

But the 2019 puff sleeve is both flattering and playful—not to mention it makes the perfect pairing for all your blue jeans. Quickly rising as every fashion girl’s favorite new silhouette, puff sleeve blouses and dresses are taking over in a major way this season. They’re literally the new “off the shoulder,” (which is SO 2018, BTW).

So bring some drama into your wardrobe, bring out your inner pirate wench and shop our favorite puff sleeves. Arrrr.
