“I think this next one will probably be born out of the piano in my house,” she told fans in a newsletter.
Good news; she’s got a new piano in her house and she’s not afraid to use it. The songstress, who wrapped the world tour in support of her sophomore album last week with a show in Mexico City, sent out a very personal email to fans thanking them for coming out and giving them a sneak peek at what’s next.

“I haven’t started properly on the next record yet, and I’m not sure how long it’ll be,” Lorde wrote in the note posted by some fans. “But I’ve been teaching myself how to play piano, and here and there little bits come out. She ended her email with this;  “As I sit at home at my kitchen table with the dog under my feet and the doors wide open, I’m thankful to be back where I feel most like myself, but also a little spooked to think it will be a while before we see each other again, formally.”
