Shawn Mendes and Khalid Address Social Injustice in Powerful Music Video For “Youth”

The time to be silent about injustice, intolerance, and inequality has ended, and Shawn Mendes knows it. On November 5th, the influential singer released a new music video for his song “Youth.” The song serves as an anthem of hope during a time in which fear and division seem much too prominent, and the video upholds that memorandum of inspiration rather well.

In the seven-minute music video, Mendes and Khalid, who also lends his calming vocals to the track, sing while a montage of clips show people of all backgrounds, shapes, sizes, colors, and body abilities. There are also snippets from the March For Our Lives rally and parts in which young activists speak against hate and promote unity. Watch the video here.
