‘We’re More Inspired Than Ever’

After hitting the road all summer long, STS9 should be ready for a break. But on Oct. 22, the Santa Cruz-based 5-piece added nine more shows in four cities to its already jam-packed (pun intended) fall-winter U.S. tour.

“I think there’s something for everyone,” he continued. “People gravitate towards what we do because of the power and energy of the music, the magical experiences and connections that people have at our shows.” The new dates include two nights at the Wiltern in Los Angeles and three nights at House of Blues in Chicago.

And even with the band’s nonstop tour schedule, bassist Alana Rocklin insists that new music is on the way. reveals they’ve been hard at work in their Santa Cruz studio, and are aiming for a 2019 release. Adds Velmer: “We’re more inspired than we’ve ever been.”
