The American Music Awards (AMAs) is an annual American music awards show, created by Dick Clark in 1973 for ABC. Unlike the Grammys, which are awarded on the basis of votes by members of the Recording Academy, the AMAs are determined by a poll of the public and fans, who can vote through the AMAs website.

Ed Sheeran has had quite the successful year. His latest album, “Divide”, was released back in March 2017, and has just wrapped up an extremely successful world tour. His single off the album, “Perfect”, has been #1 across the board from pop to adult contemporary.

Sheeran has racked up six different nominations for the awards show. Including artist of the year, tour of the year, favorite male artist pop/rock, favorite album pop/rock “divide”, favorite song pop/rock “perfect” and favorite artist adult contemporary.

Tune in to ABC tonight to see if he goes big or goes home.
