Aerosmith will be in Las Vegas for a Las Vegas residency in 2019, announced just last week. Here are a few things you may not have known about this incredible Boston band that celebrates its 50th birthday soon.

Did you know that Aerosmith and Bruce Springsteen dropped their 1st album on the same day, January 5th, 1973? Or, that Sammy Hagar almost became the band’s lead singer when Tyler and the others were drifting apart, considering moving on in separate directions? Steven stayed and Sammy never signed on.

“I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,” from the movie ‘Armageddon’ is the band’s only number one song, and one of our personal favorites obviously.

Although the band received music’s highest honor by being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, Joe Perry’s mom got them their first gig; at Miscoe Hill School’s gymnasium.
