Dolly Parton announced this week the most expensive expansion project ever for her Dollywood theme park, and has been speaking aloud about a ‘9 to 5’ film re-boot. As that wasn’t enough news, she was also honored this week with an award named after, her! She received the award named after her, the ‘Dolly Parton Excellence in Leadership Award,’ given at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.

The decision to honor Dolly with this award was an easy one, as Dolly has spent a lifetime helping other, from her ‘Imagination Library,’ providing free books to children, an initiative that encourages children to read, providing more than100 million books to needy children since 1995and her recent fundraising efforts for those who have suffered from the 2016 East Tennessee wildfires. She held a telethon called the “Smoky Mountains Rise” which raised more than $12 million dollars.
