Cher Drops 1st Single from ABBA Cover ‘Dancing Queen’ LP

Cher is a rare entertainer, one who finds herself as popular and hip as she was some 40 years ago. She’s about to drop her latest LP, an album of ABBA covers that were given life from her role in the recent film ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,’ where she sang “Fernando” and “Super Trooper.”

Cher began her singing career as a background singer for most of the Phil Spector acts in the early 60s, but rose to fame as ½ the ‘Sonny and Cher’ act from the mid-60s Her solo career has been equally as successful, hitting the charts in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. It’s no surprise that she’d appear in the Mamma Mia! sequel this year, but the highlight of 2018 may be her recognition at the Kennedy Center at the end of the year; Reba McEntire and Philip Glass of ‘Hamilton’ will join her in the Kennedy Center celebration.
