Music is intended to make you feel good. When we turn up our favorite song in the car, we imagine ourselves on stage with a guitar in hand, with the cheering fans urging us to stay in the spotlight. Music makes you feel good, and the 60s and 70s had its share of ‘feel good’ music. Here are more of the songs that make us feel so good…

“Thunder Island” by solo artist Jay Ferguson was a mixture of great guitar licks and a terrific hook, making fans turn the radio to 11 when it appeared on their local radio station.

“Bang on the Drum All Day” by Todd Rundgren is just a silly upbeat tune that makes every day a Friday, plus we all want to make lots of noise.

“Get Down Tonight” captured the sounds of disco and a driving beat, with perhaps the greatest song intro ever written. KC and the Sunshine Band followed that tune up with four more top 10 tunes, all making us feel happy to be alive.

Is there a better ‘feel good’ song than “Sunglasses at Night” by Corey Hart? We love the song, have yet to understand fully what Corey is saying. Oh well; it’s a feel-good tune.
