The band Styx has been around since the early 70s, releasing great albums like ‘The Grand Illusion,’ ‘Pieces of Eight,’ ‘Paradise Theater,’ and ‘Equinox.’ Tommy Shaw had been the driving guitar of the group for years, eventually heading out to join other projects and releasing solo LPs. How good was or is Styx? From 1977 to 1981, Styx released four consecutive albums that were certified Multi-Platinum, not an easy feat back then. In all, Styx has recorded and released 16 studio albums, making us wonder why they are not yet in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Styx has just released an expanded version of their latest studio LP, last year’s ‘The Mission’ while Tommy will drop his latest solo album called ‘Shaw’s Sing for the Day’ a project Tommy Shaw recorded with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra.
Tommy Shaw’s ‘Sing for the Day!’ is out now, while the new version of The Mission drops July 27th.
