Ed Sheeran Hit with $100 Million Lawsuit for “Thinking Out Loud”

Not long-ago Robin Thicke lost a court battle over his song “Blurred Lines” and the Marvin Gaye song “Got to Give It Up” as a Los Angeles jury decided his song was way too close to the Margin Gaye song, ordered to pay the Marvin Gaye family Gaye’s family $7.3 million.

Now Ed Sheeran is facing a massive $100 million lawsuit because a company called Structured Asset Sales claim Ed’s chart-busting song “Thinking Out Loud” is a way too close to Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On.” This is not the first time Ed’s been sued, but we hear he’s not too happy about this suit for copyright infringement.

The irony is the Gaye family is not the damaged party bringing on the legal action, rather it’s being filed by an investment banker named David Pullman.
