Forty years ago, pop star Olivia Newton-John made a chance move; she said yes to a cheesy project that was called ‘Grease’ with rising star John Travolta. The film would go on to reach cult status, making each of the actor’s career. Grease would eventually become the highest-grossing musical film ever, breaking the 13-year ‘The Sound of Music.’ Record.

Life has not always been a bowl of cherries for Olivia Newton-John; she had a serious health scare in 1992 with a bout with breast cancer, thankfully in remission as we speak. Her boyfriend of nine years Patrick McDermott suspiciously disappeared during a 2005 fishing trip off the Californian coast, although some say he’s alive living under an assumed name, avoiding financial commitments.
