Sports Headlines and Heads Up This Weekend

In the world of sports, there’s plenty to keep an eye on this weekend; the NASCAR series is in Charlotte NC for the Monster Energy Open, kicking off Saturday 8 pm EST. The NBA playoff heats up this weekend, as the Boston Celtics travel to Cleveland to visit LeBron and the Cavaliers for game three of the series, while the Golden State Warriors host the Houston Rockets in their game 3 as well on Saturday.

The PGA features the AT&T Byron Nelson Classic in Dallas TX, the ladies are in Daytona Beach FL for the Kingsmill Championship, and the Senior PGA holds court in suburban Birmingham AL for Regions Tradition at the Greystone Founders Course.

The big matchups in professional baseball this weekend includes the Red Sox hosting the Baltimore Orioles and two other interesting matchups; the flailing Dodgers taking on the Washington Nationals, and Milwaukee at Minnesota.

Finally, here’s a story you don’t see often; the Toronto The Raptors fired head coach Dwane Casey not all that long ago, then turned around this week and congratulated him for being a nominee for the ‘NBA Coach of the Year.’ Imagine recently departed Raptor head coach Casey on live television accepting the ‘Coach of the Year’ award without a job?
