Often times when we think of great music, we think of the 60s and 70s. The 80s gave us some righteous songs as well.

Phil Collins had great success in the 80s with tunes like “In the Air Tonight,” “I Don’t Care Anymore,” and “Take Me Home.” All of them classics.

Although the band made its debut in the late 80s. the 80s were was the decade of Van Halen; “Jump” “Hot For Teacher” “Dreams” and “Love Walks In” sung by two different lead singers solidified Van Halen’s rightful place as top dog in the 80s.

“Money for Nothing” was the perfect MTV song from Dire Straits, proving Mark Knopfler the scuffle-guitar king of his generation. It was great to see their admission into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.

“Don’t Stop Believing” is the single best song from the 80s that has taken on a life of its own in every sporting venue since its release. Journey is arguably the gold standard of 80s bands, with this memorable single defining a cult following of kids with chips on their shoulders.
