Randy Bachman has just released a new LP covering all George Harrison songs. You may be surprised to learn that although John Lennon and Paul McCartney are considered the greatest songwriting duo of our generation, George Harrison wrote many of the Beatles songs, your favorites. You will be surprised to discover this list of songs that were NOT written by Lennon and McCartney. Here’s our look at the top three songs written by George Harrison…

“What is Life” was released in 1970 from the ‘All Things Must Pass’ album and features Eric Clapton on rhythm guitar, The song is easily considered one his best efforts. “What is Life” was the ‘B’ side to the other classic ‘My Sweet Lord,’ and was a Top 10 single in America.

“Here Comes the Sun” is a George Harrison song, written in the home of Eric Clapton on a day when George wanted to escape the Apple offices to avoid a meeting with one of its executives. “Here Comes the Sun” was a cover hit for Richie Havens, Peter Tosh, Booker T and the MGs, and the We Five.

Released from the 1969 ‘Abbey Road’ LP, the song “Something” was penned by George, inspired in part by James Taylor (“Something in the way she moves” a lyric from James) and his wife at the time Pattie Boyd.
