Michael Jackson continues to be news, year after his death, as news that his black loafers worn in his iconic ‘moon walk’ are up for auction for the very first time. Michael wore the shoes in his “Billy Jean’ kicks in the “Billy Jean” MTV video, and for his appearance in the 1983 television special the “Motown 25” celebration.

Choreographer and dancer Lester Wilson had previously owned the shoes after Michael gave the dancer the shoes in the cast party after the TV special. The auction house GWS Auctions will be handling the transaction, and it’s likely the shoes bidding will begin around $25,000.

The legendary Michael Jackson shoes will have a physical review at the Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles within a few days. The auction will be online, and the date of the auction begins May 26th.
