In 1996 film ‘The First Wives Club’ shook Hollywood to the core, primarily because it pulled back the curtain on greed, envy, hypocrisy and an age-old Hollywood tradition; dump the first wife when you become rich and famous.
We now hear that the “The First Wives Club” reboot is about to become a series at Paramount Network, the network that has ordered nearly a dozen of 30-minute shows. Tracy Oliver’s the writer made famous with her screenplay talent in the hit comedy film “Girls Trip” has signed on for the project. The film ‘First Wives Club’ starred Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler, Diane Keaton, Maggie Smith and Sarah Jessica Parker.
The 1996 film earned a Blockbuster and ASCAP award, grabbing an Oscar for ‘Best Original Score.’ There’s no word on the cast or production timelines but look for news about the reboot of the ‘First Wives Club’ later this year.
