Actor R. Lee Ermey, the man who broke the mole in ‘Full Metal Jacket,’ ‘Seven,’ and ‘Saving Silverman,’ has died in Santa Monica California, from complications of pneumonia at the age of 74. His other notable film roles are found in ‘Leaving Las Vegas,’ ‘Dead Man Walking,’ “Seven,’ and ‘Prefontaine.’

R. Lee Ermey served in the Marines, studying drama after he left the military, with his first big break coming from ‘The Boys in Company C’ in 1978, and a cherry role in the television series Miami Vice in the mid-80s. His commendations in the military are too many to mention, but his real accomplishment was that of being a working actor, appearing in nearly 100 films or television shows combined. R. Lee leaves behind four grown children and Nila, his wife of over 40 years.

Dwayne Johnson, better known to his fans as the ‘Rock’ is Hollywood’s most bankable star (and rumored to be one of the wealthiest) has hit box office gold over the weekend with ‘Rampage’ while still driving sales for his earlier ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ film. ‘Rampage’ earned nearly $35 million at the box office in its open this past weekend.
